Roads & Bridges of McKean Township
McKean Township has nine (9) bridges that span over 20' in length. Of these nine (9) bridges, Baron Road Bridge has been replaced with more bridges expected to be replaced in the near future.
The Construction on the Reichert Road #1 Bridge has been completed. The bridge was open for use on July 29, 2011. Construction costs were $ 570,620 with funding being provided at 80% Federal, 15% State, and 5% Local.

The bridge spanning Elk Creek on Reichert Road known as the Reichert Road #2 Bridge is also in the process of being replaced in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. A total projected cost for the project is $1,240,000 with funding being provided at 80% Federal, 15% State, and 5% Local. We are anticipating that construction should begin in early June 2012 and the anticipated construction completion should be in August 2012.

The bridge spanning Elk Creek on Rick Road known as the Rick Road Bridge was closed in April 2011 and is expected to remain closed until late summer of 2013. A total projected cost for the project at $1,825,000 with funding being provided at 80% Federal, 15% State, and 5% Local.
